I found particularly moving to assist at this scene, perhaps first steps of this little boy, passing through the door frame to discover the world. His supposed older brother is already outside, like to encourage and help him, standing in a so sweet attitude. I love contrast between this little tot and the monumental frame, together with these imposing stair-steps. Zanzibar’s outside doors are well known for their finely-worked beauty. This house is perhaps an ancient palace, with its delightfully faded outside walls that give an interesting graphic granularity to the whole picture.
