The story is inspired from the American Native culture and specifically from the rituals of painting their horses and themselves with symbols, depicting their spiritual bond with their gods; thus, each symbol had his own unique meaning. The horses at this painting, are symbols of power and resistance, prepared for the battle that is coming. My aspiration at this painting is to send a message that, we have to be ready and strong, mentally and physically to fight for our rights.
Painted with dark and light oil colour tones, glossy and mat finish, I am trying to focus the eye directly to the characters and the symbols on them.
I used more than one layers in some places to do the colour more saturated.
